The Truckload Carriers Association Joins 6th Annual National Infrastructure Week
05/14/2018
Infrastructure Week – May 14-21, 2018 – is a week-long series of events raising awareness about why it is #TimeToBuild better infrastructure
Alexandria, Virginia:
Today, the Truckload Carriers Association announced its participation in the national advocacy and educational event, Infrastructure Week, which will take place from May 14-21, 2018. Across the country, hundreds of businesses, labor organizations, elected officials and more will come together spread the message about why it is #TimeToBuild.
Too many Americans are waiting. Waiting in traffic, on bus and subway platforms, and in airport terminals. Waiting for water mains to stop breaking. Waiting for goods to get to grocery shelves on time. Waiting for modern, fast, reliable, and safe infrastructure, while our global competitors are modernizing old systems and building new ones, with profound implications for trade, business competitiveness, and geopolitics. During the 6th annual Infrastructure Week in 2018, the message is: The future won’t wait. Neither can we. It’s #TimeToBuild.
Infrastructure Week is organized nationally by its Steering Committee, including the nation’s largest business, labor, and thought-leadership organizations, and is joined by more than 300 Affiliates – from the builders/operators to the users of infrastructure – around the country.
“We are thrilled that TCA is joining Infrastructure Week. The dire state of America’s infrastructure is one of the most pressing issues facing us as a nation, and the benefits of a stronger, better infrastructure system will be far-reaching and long-lasting,” said Zach Schafer, director of Infrastructure Week.
“During Infrastructure Week, we bring together the public and private sector to encourage lawmakers to highlight innovation and leadership, think long-term, and invest in infrastructure at the federal, state and local level,” adds Schafer.
