2020 TCA Safety Professional of the Year – Clare C. Casey Award – Now Accepting Nominations


Alexandria, Virginia: 

The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is pleased to announce that is currently accepting nominations for the 2020 TCA Safety Professional of the Year – Clare C. Casey Award.

Now in its 30th year, this distinguished award recognizes a person whose actions and achievements have made a profound impact on improving safety on our highways. Winners have a history of demonstrating their dedication to serving the industry, their company, their communities, and the motoring public at large

To be eligible for the award, nominees must:

  • Be employed full-time by a trucking company with motor carrier operating authority and is directing safety activities for its fleet at the supervisory level;
  • Have five years of full-time employment experience as a safety professional with a trucking company with motor carrier operating authority; and,
  • Be employed by a trucking company that is a for-hire carrier member of the Truckload Carriers Association.

Last year’s award was presented to John Christner Trucking, Inc.’s Director of Safety John Mallory. “John has an absolute passion for our industry, particularly making it safer,” shared John Christner Trucking, Inc.’s Vice President of Risk Management Shannon Crowley. “He spends much of his free time in pursuit of just that.” In addition to being employed by John Christner Trucking, Inc. for over a decade, Mallory has served on the Oklahoma Safety Management Council, is a member of many industry associations, and received several other significant awards.

Nominees for the TCA Safety Professional of the Year – Clare C. Casey Award must exemplify leadership and demonstrate the goals of protecting lives and property in the motor transportation industry. The award is named after Clare Casey, a safety professional who actively served TCA from 1979 until 1989. He was devoted to ensuring that all truckload safety professionals build a strong safety network.

Nominations for this prestigious award can be submitted here until Friday, May 1, 2020.
