Carriers Gather for 30th Refrigerated Division Annual Meeting of the Truckload Carriers Association
Event is tailored exclusively to operators of temperature-controlled equipment
Mashantucket, Connecticut:
Each summer, the Truckload Carriers Association’s (TCA) Refrigerated Division hosts its annual meeting on issues related to the operation of temperature-controlled trailers. This exclusive event, which runs today through Friday at the MGM Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, allows carriers to meet with their peers to discuss problems, share ideas, and seek solutions unique to their specialized area of operations.
TCA has put together some outstanding programming for its general sessions, including Chester Elton, author of All In. Elton will outline how the best managers create a culture of buy-in and belief to drive real results through a simple, 7-step roadmap. Another session will feature a panel of truck dealers discussing how to create strong partnerships, one truck at a time. The division will also host Bob Costello, the American Trucking Associations’ chief economist and vice president, who will provide a forecast for the trucking industry, specifically its refrigerated segment.
A highlight of the meeting will be the Trucking in the Round workshops: popular, interactive discussions on topics such as transportation costs, driver demographics, alternative fuels, and the impact of healthcare reform. In addition, attendees will have plenty of time to network while also enjoying golf, receptions, and several meals together.
Recordings of the educational sessions held at the 2013 Refrigerated Division Annual Meeting will be posted to Truckload Academy On-demand, TCA’s virtual training and education platform (www.truckload.org/TAO). Here, TCA members and others can get 24/7 access to audio synchronized PowerPoint presentations, downloadable copies of the speakers’ slides and handouts, and the option to download the recordings as MP3s for learning on the go.
