Cummins and Chevron Delo to Sponsor Grand Prizes for 2013 TCA/Randall-Reilly Driver of the Year Competition
Companies’ generosity will provide outstanding rewards to the Owner Operator of the Year and Company Driver of the Year
Alexandria, Virginia:
The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and its partner, Randall-Reilly of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, are pleased to announce that Cummins and Chevron Delo will provide grand prizes for the prestigious 2013 Driver of the Year competition. The contest recognizes the top company drivers and owner operators in the U.S. and Canada, who provide reliable and safe truck transportation in moving North America’s goods.
To support the grand prizewinners — one Owner Operator of the Year and one Company Driver of the Year — the two companies will provide 2013 Ram 2500 pickup trucks powered by Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel. Chevron Delo is also giving the winners a year’s supply of Delo oil for their new vehicles. The identities of the winners will be revealed March 25th during TCA’s Annual Convention at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas.
“Cummins is proud to support TCA and the Driver of the Year Awards,” said Amy Boerger, general manager – field sales and support for Cummins, based in Columbus, Indiana. “These drivers exemplify excellence amongst their peers, and we are honored to play a part in thanking them for their outstanding service and commitment to the trucking industry.”
Randy Brillhart, heavy duty commercial channel manager, North America, for Chevron Lubricants, of San Ramon, California, said, “Truck drivers deliver the vast majority of the goods we consume, making them a vital part of our economic engine. Their hard work deserves our thanks, respect, and admiration. Being a sponsor of the TCA Driver of the Year Awards is one way we at Chevron attempt to show our support for this industry and those that exemplify all that is good about it.”
The grand prizewinners will be selected from three finalists in each category. To win, they must demonstrate that they have operated in a safe manner on the public highways, helped to enhance the public image of the trucking industry, and made positive contributions to their communities. The owner operator winner must also demonstrate strong business skills.
