Update on TCA’s Fall Business Meetings and Call on Washington

08/10/2020

Alexandria, Virginia:

The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged all of us in profound ways, both professionally and personally. TCA has been working nonstop to provide you with the latest information, advocate for you, and highlight our industry as heroes. Yet as the pandemic persists, we have been forced to reevaluate our plans to hold in-person events this Fall.

The decision by local leadership to implement restrictions for travelers has made it impossible for us to hold an in-person event in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, we do not anticipate these new restrictions to be removed in the coming months.

TCA’s Fall Business Meetings, scheduled for September 22, will now be held virtually on September 22 and 23. We are excited to continue our tradition of strong committee participation and believe the virtual environment will provide an opportunity for those who may have never experienced one of these meetings to become more involved. Committee meetings are open to all TCA members, and we strongly encourage you to take a look at the list of committees and their subject areas.

For TCA’s 2020 Call on Washington, our Officers and staff have made the difficult decision to cancel the event. However, we will be incorporating many components of the event into the Fall Business Meetings through presentations and question and answer sessions with members of Congress and federal agency leadership.

When Washington, DC and the congressional offices reopen to visitors, we will begin hosting small groups of TCA members for in-person Hill meetings. We also encourage you to engage with your lawmakers on a local level during this time. To find your local Representative and Senator, please use the provided links.

Stay tuned for more information from TCA regarding event schedule and registration for the virtual event. While the situation continues to evolve, we appreciate your patience and continued support. We look forward to seeing you virtually in September!
